Warts are skin diseases characterized by the formation of small tumor -like growths on the surface of the skin.
The size of the warts varies. The formation can be as big as a pin needle, and can reach the size of a ruble coin.
The disease is viral and contagious through direct contact or through household items used by both sick and healthy people at the same time.
Usually, such growths cause psychological discomfort, because often the place of their localization is the visible part of the body. Warts can be treated with pharmaceutical drugs, folk remedies or hardware procedures.
Varieties of warts
- common (simple) - gray brown nodules of round shape with a rough surface. These warts usually occur on the hands, face, and scalp. Widespread in children and adults. Simple warts do not cause any pain, but are quite unpleasant from an aesthetic point of view, as they can form entire colonies of benign tumor -like formations;
- plantar warts - occur, as the name implies, on the plantar surface. In appearance, they resemble corns, consisting of filiform papillae surrounded by a layer of horns. The reasons why plantar warts appear include the constant pressure of the shoe and the formation of an unfavorable microclimate in the foot area. When walking, such formations convey painful emotions and require adequate treatment;
- flat warts are small nodules that are barely prominent on the surface of the skin. They have a yellowish or fleshy color and are most often observed in young people. Flat warts form on the hands and face. As a rule, they are not painful at all;
- genital warts (condylomas) - get their name due to the fact that they are transmitted during sexual intercourse and affect, respectively, the external genitalia.
The main cause of the appearance of warts in humans is a viral lesion on the skin. Pathogens are transmitted to healthy people through direct contact with virus carriers or through household items. In addition, skin sweating, minor injuries, burns, and several other factors can contribute to the disease. So, for example, plantar warts are easily picked up while visiting a pool or bathing in the gym.
Warts treatment
Currently, methods of combating warts are usually divided into medical and surgical. The first involves the use of ointments, the use of antiviral drugs, the use of destructive chemicals. All such actions have a relatively low efficiency and can only help if a single formation appears, and even then at the earliest stage. For this reason, modern treatment of warts is based on the use of surgical methods, which, in turn, are divided into:
- surgery;
- cryodestruction methods;
- radio wave surgery;
- operations carried out with the help of laser technology.
The first two methods are characterized by painful surgery and a long healing period. In addition, if not used properly, it can cause scarring and the reappearance of warts. Radio wave and laser surgery overcome these shortcomings and offer patients fast, bloodless and painless treatment for warts on the hands, feet and other parts of the body.
Warts - folk treatment
People have a variety of recipes to get rid of unpleasant skin growths. Here are the most popular of them:
- plantar warts are easily removed by rubbing a cake made from a clove of garlic, 1 teaspoon of vinegar essence and wheat flour. Apply a small amount of this test on the warts and fix with a plaster or bandage. The bandage is removed after 2-3 hours. If it does not disappear, then the procedure to remove the wart is repeated again. Also note that small and painful dimples will appear to replace the fallen formation. Bandages with ointment are applied to them, which are worn until the wound is completely healed;
- warts on the hands are quickly removed with the help of pinnate Kalanchoe leaves. Attach it to the wart and wrap with a bandage. After 3-4 procedures, the warts will disappear;
- effective mixture, prepared from garlic and lard. Spread on a cloth, place on the warts and fix the bandage with a band-aid. It is necessary to change the mass of garlic-tallow every day. The course of treatment lasts 4-5 days;
- it has been observed that if every day the wart is rubbed with sour apple juice, then it will begin to shrink and disappear completely after about 10 days. Fresh juice of mountain ash or tomato has a similar effect;
- powder from crushed cornflower seeds has good results. They have to be done every day. You can also mix the powder with lard and get an ointment to get rid of warts.
